Vada Pao ( aka poor man's burger), is probably the most popular dish of Mumbai. for anywhere between 2-5 rupees anyone can have a full meal. Vada is a potato dumpling deep fried in oil, and Pao, which actually came to Maharashtra from Goa, is very similar to Portuguese bread (Goa used to be a Portuguese colony).
